Bayleys Sheep Dog Trials 2025
$36,000 raised for the Greenlea Rescue Helicopter
The 2025 Bayleys Sheep Dog Trials welcomed over 300 dogs and handlers from across New Zealand, making it the country’s largest dog trial event this year. Across four days, top rural skill and tradition were on display — all while raising vital funds for the Greenlea Rescue Helicopter. Behind the scenes, a tireless volunteer crew made it all happen, with a special thanks to Midlands Rural Transport for their essential support moving sheep around the lake.
As naming sponsor, Bayleys Taupo continues to back rural communities alongside Blackhawk, a proud partner since 2023. Huka Honda added excitement this year with a $3,000 kids’ motorbike raffle — won by Colin from Hawke’s Bay — helping boost our fundraising even further. Thanks to our sponsors, supporters, and community, this event keeps growing. Planning is already underway for 2026 — and it’s set to be even bigger, better, and more impactful.

We were honoured to welcome Ayshea and Kelly from Philips Search and Rescue Trust - the charity responsible for fundraising and promotion of the North Island’s largest pool of community rescue helicopters which includes the Greenlea Rescue Helicopter - across Friday and Saturday. Also joined by helicopter crew members Adam and Bondy, who brought with them past patient Peter. His powerful story and words of gratitude reminded everyone just how important this service is — and why fundraising efforts like these truly matter.
